The Secretary of State's Office will be giving a free Notary Public Workshop from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday, Dec. 10 at the Payson Town Hall council chambers. The presentation will cover:
- Who can become a notary
- The application process
- Responsibilities and duties of being a notary
- The notary statutes
- The four (4) notarial acts that a notary can perform, as well as an explanation of each
- Prohibited notarizations
- Causes for revocation
- The complaint process
Reference materials will be distributed prior to the class.
