Library Will Sponsor Writing Contest For Youth Authors

The Payson Public Library is sponsoring young authors (age 12 and under) to enter the Baker and Taylor Young Authors Writing Contest.

Children ages 12 and under may type or hand-write an original story of 500 to 750 words, based on Baker and Taylor's famous cat mascots.

Write an original story (500-750 words) based on the publisher's famous cat mascots, Baker and Taylor.

Stories must be turned into the library by Friday, Dec. 21. Youth librarian Harryette Stanley will send the stories to Baker and Taylor/Red Cygnet Press.

This is the same company that sponsored a cat calendar contest in September.

The winner of the writing contest will have his or her story published, receive 20 copies of the book and the sponsoring library will receive five copies of the book.

Stop by the library to pick up a flyer or contact Harryette at 474-9260 for more information.
