Glenn Morris Shaw, 72, died Dec. 11, 2007 after a short illness. He was born to Glenn R. and Marguerite Shaw on July 31, 1935 in Huron, S.D.
He joined the Navy and was a member of the Naval Band until 1956.
He married Audrey J. Osland Aug. 17, 1957 and had two children, Michael and Sandra.
Mr. Shaw was very involved in the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and Boy Scouts of the Inver Grove Heights, Minn. In 1980, he was transferred to Phoenix by Programmed Land. He continued with the company until he and his wife Audrey purchased Saguaro Moulding, Inc. in 1985.
In 1994, they retired to Tonto Village, Ariz. where he was very active in the community. He held various positions in Tonto Village's Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Audrey J. Shaw; his son and daughter-in-law, Michael M. and Darlene Shaw, their children, Chris Hinojos, Loree Keenan and Andrew Saldana all of Mesa; his daughter and son-in-law, Sandra L. and Steve Human of Pine, their children, Antoinette Bach of Phoenix, Andrea Bach of Scottsdale, Jeremy Human of Young, Jennifer Hilderbrand of Gilbert, Julie Huff of Prescott Valley and Jodi Zimmerman of Surprise.; 11 great-grandchildren; his 98-year-old father, Glenn R. Shaw of Walnut Grove, Minn.; sister, Macel Ovick of Crystal, Minn., her children, Jason and Jennifer; and sister Kay's children, Randy, Teri K., Jeff and Rodney Cromwell.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Marguerite; his sister, Kay Cromwell MacDonald; and brother-in-law, Richard Ovick.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 16 at Messinger Payson Funeral Home. Interment will be at Mountain Meadows Memorial Park.
A gathering of family and friends will be hosted by our friends at Sidewinders in Pine, following the service.
