Why are you running?
I am running because many people in town have asked me to do so. I feel that I have had a positive influence on the decisions made by the town council and would like to continue doing so.
What changes are you seeking to implement?
I went to identify and correct impediments to economic development.
Continue to encourage town staff to be "user friendly."
What are the three most important issues to you?
b. Economic Development
c. Police Salaries
How will you attempt to address or solve those issues?
These three issues are tied together.
The budget must be developed that will encourage "user friendly" community and economic development, our quality of life, and bring our police salaries up to be competitive with the rest of the state.
We have our own police academy; we need to pay our police enough that they will stay here after we train them.
What can voters expect from you?
They can expect more of what I have been doing the past four years. I will study the issues, look for unintended consequences and be a reasonable voice on whatever issues come up.
What are your qualifications for holding a council seat?
My primary qualifications are my four years experience on the town council, plus the three years prior to that, serving on various town committees.
What experience do you have, preparing you to hold office?
In my long career as an accountant, auditor and appeals officer, I have developed the ability to analyze complex issues, understand their workings and arrive at possible solutions.
How will you work with your fellow counselors, if elected?
In what activities or committees are you currently involved.
The Green Valley Redevelopment Committee, Library Friends of Payson, Rotary. Boy Scouts, Friends of Parks and Recreation, and various other nonprofit organizations.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
What free time I have is spent reading, working Sudoku puzzles, litter pickup, and occasionally fishing.
