Beth Champie Leeds died Feb 1, 2007 in Payson at the age of 71. She was born Dec. 1, 1935 in Phoenix. A second-generation Arizona native, she grew up in Glendale on her family ranch near Castle Hot Springs.
She graduated from Glendale High, attended NAU and married Mac Leeds. They had three children and four grandchildren. They lived all over Arizona and retired from Prescott Unified School District.
Mrs. Leeds loved her ranching background, her sports, especially "her" Phoenix Coyotes, quilting, being a charter member of the Rim Country Optimist Club of Payson and her family.
She is survived by her children, Gary Leeds, Greg Leeds and Gayle Ramirez; grandchildren, Morgan Leeds, Mindy Leeds, Kristine Ramirez and Ricardo Ramirez.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Madeline Champie.
Services will be held at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 10 at the Payson High School Auditorium. Following the service, burial will be at Castle Hot Springs Cemetery.
