Homer Bierwirth, 74, died Jan. 29, 2007 following heart failure.
He was born in Connecticut, but moved to Phoenix at an early age, and spent most of his life as a Sunnyslope resident.
He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the Midway from 1952-1956.
After retiring from Pitney Bowes, Mr. Bierwirth owned his own woodworking business.
Many years of camping, fishing, and horseback riding in the Rim Country led to his lifelong dream of becoming a full-time Payson resident two months ago.
He is survived by wife, Laura; daughters, Cory Bierwirth-Klein (Fred, Taylor, Connor), Angie Rogers (Chuck, Chuckie, Bethany), and Tracy Reber (David); stepsons, Joseph Pelliccio (Angie, Bailey) and Dominic Pelliccio.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles; his mother Marion; and beloved brother, Adrian (Abe).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made in Mr. Bierwirth's name to the Payson Humane Society P.O. Box 242, Payson, AZ 85547 and/or 4-H Clubs of Rim Country P.O. Box 2844, Payson, AZ 85547.
