Man Tasered Twice In Confrontation

Payson Police arrested two men Friday night after being called to the Del Taco restaurant for a fight in progress.

Officers tasered a 21-year-old twice. Payson Police Commander Don Engler said the Taser was used when the man became confrontational.

The other man, a 23-year-old, fled from officers to the nearby El Rancho restaurant with Officer Donnie Garvin pursuing him in his patrol car.

Garvin's police car struck the corner of the restaurant while in pursuit, though no major damage was done to the building or car.

Engler said the two men had a verbal exchange with people in a car at the Del Taco drive-in before a fight ensued.

The 21-year-old was arrested for resisting arrest -- a Class 6 felony -- assault and disorderly conduct.

The 23-year-old was arrested for disorderly conduct.
