Payson Needs To Study How To Serve Citizens For Less

Editor:

I recently visited the League of Cities and Towns where I borrowed the 2006 budgets of the five towns just larger than Payson, and the five towns just smaller.

From these budgets I secured the actual expenditure figures for the year ending June 20, 2005.

Payson is the eighth highest spending town of the eleven, at $1,400 per capita for the year 2005.

It seems to me that it would be well to have someone from Payson visit Florence and Douglas to see how the town governments there satisfy the citizens with expenditures of $907 per capita (Douglas) and $600 per capita (Florence).
