The Payson High School Longhorn boys basketball team will be going to the final four of the state tournament for the first time since 1979.
The Horns earned the right to participate after carving out a 46-42 upset victory over Chandler Seton Catholic in Walkup Skydome on the campus of Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff Friday.
The one-two punch of Oliver Lewinson and Miles Huff led the Horns to the win over Seton. Lewinson finished with 11 points and Huff contributed 10.
More than 5,000 fans, most there to cheer on the Northern Arizona reservation teams, filled the Skydome.
The Longhorns will play Holbrook at 1:15 p.m., Friday, Feb. 23 in Jobing.com Arena in Glendale.
The Roadrunners advanced to the final four with a surprising 70-64 overtime win over Estrella Foothills.
In the other final four bracket, Fountain Hills will take on Coolidge. FH advanced to the semifinals with a 67-60 win over pre-tournament favorite Window Rock. Coolidge beat Alchesay 76-68 in the elite eight.
