Staff members at Payson Elementary School don fake teeth to announce the coming of an event to promote healthy teeth.
Payson area dentists will visit PES on Wednesday to provide dental screenings to students. These visual exams are used to make parents aware of any obvious dental concerns that they may want to discuss with their dentist. The screenings are not to be replacements for a thorough dental checkup.
This community service has provided dental screenings to thousands of students over the years, initially started by Dr. Scott Anderson, DDS, when only one elementary school existed in Payson.
It is anticipated that more than 1,000 students will receive the free screenings at the three local elementary schools this month.
