Stuart Alexander Skinner


Stuart Alexander Skinner was born in Safford on Aug. 24, 1928.

He moved to Payson in 1968 from Blythe, Calif.

Mr. Skinner and his brother, Sunny, owned the Thunderbird Freight Line for many years.

He then went to work for Hamman Lumber Co. where he worked until he retired.

He was married to Margaret Skinner for 35 years.

He is survived by seven stepchildren, Diane Hollis of Mesa, Carolyn Toot of Payson, Joel Bishop of Payson, Reva Thomas of Chandler, Ike Polk of Alaska and Wilma (Potsie) Polk of Payson, one sister, Catherine Plumb of Blythe, Calif., and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, George Alexander Skinner, mother, Pearl Florence Gardener Skinner, two brothers, Moroni (Sunny) Skinner and Richard Skinner.

Donations may be made to Hospice RTA and Palliative Care, 511 S. Mud Springs Road, Payson, AZ 85541.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 4 at Messinger Payson Funeral Home, 302 W. Aero Drive in Payson.
