The first-ever fireworks display planned for Dec. 30 in Pine/Strawberry was postponed until Feb. 10.
Rose Harper, chairman of the board of the fire district, said the postponement was made because of the potential fire danger.
"We did not get the snow soon enough to feel secure," she said.
The Feb. 10 firework display is not set in stone. Valentine's Day and Arizona State Day is Feb. 14, but the Pine/Strawberry Business Community wants to hold the event on a Saturday.
Jim Richey, Chairman of the Pine/Strawberry Business Community, said the fireworks were going to be shipped from Phoenix for this week's celebration, but they asked that the shipment be delayed.
The fireworks display was to be held in Pine/Strawberry Dec 30, at the Pine Elementary School. The display was to last for approximately 20 minutes.
The newly formed Pine/Strawberry Business Community is sponsoring the free family event.
