A local attorneys' office was hit by an undisclosed number of bullets in a drive-by shooting Wednesday evening.
The law office building of Lloyd & Robinson P.L.L.C at 113 E. Frontier St. was struck by bullets at about 6 p.m. Wednesday, said Payson Police Commander Don Engler.
Engler said police believe multiple rounds were fired at the building where Art Lloyd and Doris Robinson-Wait practice law. He said police do not want to reveal the number of shots that were fired because the case is still under investigation.
At the time of the shooting, Lloyd was still in the building, Engler said.
Lloyd, reached by phone in Dallas, Texas, Thursday afternoon, said he heard what sounded like two loud explosions, and later saw a window blind in the conference room that had a bullet hole. That's when he called police.
The bullet was lodged into a wall where Lloyd had been standing, he said.
"It's a little nerve-wracking to have a bullet go by you," he said.
Engler said the investigation is in the early stages.
"As we continued the investigation, we believe that vehicle went by twice," the police commander said, adding police think at least one shot was fired each time the vehicle drove by the building.
Engler said police are asking for assistance from anyone who may have information on the case.
Anyone with any information on the shooting is asked to call Sgt. Tom Tieman at the Payson Police Department at 474-5177.
