Through the Credit For Kids tax credit, taxpayers supported the Payson Unified School District with more than $297,000 this year. The Pine Strawberry School District received $56,250.
"Donations increased by more than 20 percent this year and, on behalf of Payson Unified School District, I want to thank everyone who contributed," said school superintendent Sue Myers.
The final distribution of funds has yet to be tallied, but it appears the fine arts program was the big winner in Payson.
"There are no words that can adequately express how grateful Pine Strawberry School feels about the generosity and thoughtfulness of our community other than to express our most heartfelt thanks," said Michael Clark, principal and superintendent of Pine Strawberry School District.
