The Town of Payson is 125 years old this year. The final weekend of the official celebration will take place Oct. 5, 6 and 7.

The first event of the year is an art contest. The Northern Gila County Historical Society is holding a contest to create the logo for this once-in-a-lifetime event. The winning entry will be used as the official logo of the Payson 125th Anniversary Celebration and will appear in all publications, press releases, banners, etc. related to our 125th Anniversary. Your entry should express what you feel portrays the true history and spirit of the Payson region.

The winning entry will be displayed in the Rim Country Museum at Green Valley Park as part of Payson's continuing history.

A Limited-Edition belt buckle commemorating Payson's 125th Anniversary will contain a rendition of the winner's logo and each winner of their respective division will receive one.

The final date for submission of entries is Jan. 31. Submissions should be handed in at the Rim Country Museum or to the Main Street Office, 600 S. Green Valley Parkway (across from the museum).
