The Payson Unified School District Governing Board is proceeding with legal action against BMJS Construction Company out of Winslow for not completing construction on time at Julia Randall Elementary School.

On June 28, the board met to vote on whether or not to pursue legal recourse from BMJS, after the company failed to meet a Dec. 1, 2006 deadline for renovations and construction to "Old Main" at Julia Randall Elementary School.

The Payson Unified School District administration plans to meet with legal counsel to discuss the litigation against BMJS. The board will meet again about the topic on Thursday at 4 p.m. in the District Office Boardroom at 514 W. Wade Lane.
