Pet Adoptions Discounted In July

ADOPTION OPTIONS

The summer of 2007 has brought a lot of animals to the shelter. So we have decided it's a great time for a July sale.

Don't misunderstand us, we still want all potential adopters to be qualified. And to be qualified you need to be 18 years of age or over, in a permanent home. If you are a renter, we will need a letter from your landlord saying it's OK for a pet to live at the residence. A home study may be required.

If you are adopting a dog, we ask that you have a fenced yard that is large enough to comfortably house him or her. We never want to see any of our dogs spending their lives in a yard chained to a tree.

We ask that you make a commitment for life. You should never take on a pet that you don't intend to keep as a family member for the remainder of its life.

Here are the prices that will be in effect through the month of July:

CATS

  • Cats over 1 year old, $25
  • Cats over 1 year old, $10 when adopted by senior citizens age 60 and over
  • Cats that have been at the shelter for 6 months or more, $25
  • 2 cats that came in together, $40 for both
  • Kittens, $70 each, or adopt two and get one for half price -- $105

DOGS

  • Dogs over 5 years old, $30
  • Adults dogs $25 when adopted by senior citizens age 60 and over
  • Dogs that have been at the shelter for 2 months or more, $40
  • 2 dogs that came in together, adopt one and get the other for half price

DALLAS

Dallas is a dashing 1-year old neutered male Shepherd/Shar Pei mix.

His beautiful coat glows golden orange and is easy maintenance. He has a wonderful happy tail.

This bright-eyed boy is a wonderful walking partner. He never pulls the leash, and he minds well.

He is at a good age to begin home schooling to be the kind of dog you want him to be.

He is intelligent, alert and willing to learn, especially if you reward him for good behavior with treats.

MOJO

MoJo is a foxy 1-year-old neutered male Shepherd/Chow mix. He's a very friendly boy who likes to be loved on and spoiled.

He will benefit from regular daily exercise in the form of playtime and long walks.

MoJo loves to fetch balls and play with other dogs. He is bright and eager to learn new tricks, and hopes his new family will work with him and spend quality time with him each day.

He came to our shelter with his best friend Gracie, so he is used to living with another dog.

This pup loves being around people and can't wait to belong to a loving family.

PEWTER

Pewter is a handsome 2-year-old neutered male gray and white cat.

He came to us as a stray some people found in their garage.

He's very gentle, friendly and even tempered.

He's looking for an easier way of life as a family pet instead of fending for himself. A comfy couch, a bowl of fish-flavored food, and some two-legged folks who think he's groovy -- that's what Pewter is dreaming of as his idea of a purrfect life!

SHAGGY

Shaggy is a wonderful 7-year-old neutered male cat.

He is very rotund and has a beautiful, long glossy black coat. Maybe because he has been so well-fed, he is always in a very good mood.

He is the friendliest cat -- always ready for affection and, of course, treats. If you're looking for a lover boy, this big guy could be just the ticket!
