Ever wanted to run for council or learn about the inner workings of the local government?
The Payson Citizens Leadership Academy is the place to start.
There are still spots remaining in the fourth annual leadership academy, also commonly referred to as Local Government 101, Town Manager Fred Carpenter said.
The deadline to register is July 31 at 5 p.m.
The program begins August 21 and consists of nine classroom sessions and facility tours. Each classroom is devoted to a different aspect of the town's organization. Classes begin at 6 p.m. and are held at the Payson Public Library or Town Hall building.
Classes will generally be held once a week and will wrap up on Nov. 6.
Enrollment is free and open to any Payson resident 18 years and older. High school seniors of any age are also welcome to enroll.
Applications are available at Town Hall or on the town's Web site, at www.paysonaz.us. For more information, call 474-5242 ext. 245.
