Pianist Sam Rottman To Play Sunday


Pianist Sam Rottman will again be in concert at the First Southern Baptist Church, on the corner of Colcord and Bonita, at 6 p.m. Sunday.

Rottman received his bachelor's and master's of music from Julliard School in New York City. While a student, he was the recipient of nine awards in the form of grants, scholarships and prizes. The most prestigious award was that of Laureate Winner in the Fourth International Beethoven Competition in Vienna, Austria. He has given more than 1,300 performances in 47 countries, from the United States, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, South America, Eurpore, Southeast Asia, South Africa, India, China and Russia.

In addition to his concert, Mr. Rottman will give his Christian testimony and speak on serving the Lord with one's gifts. He is now the pastor of Grace Church in East Mesa on Brown Road. Formerly, he was in charge of the piano department and served as the director of the D'Angelo School of Music at Mercyhurst College.

The concert is open to the public. There is no admission charge. However, a love offering will be taken for Rottman during the evening.
