We want to thank the many people who sent cards, plants, flowers and food to us after the death of Calvin Peace. We also thank the many who made donations to nonprofit organizations in his honor. It was very much appreciated.
We owe a debt of gratitude to Bob Welker who conducted the graveside service in the Gisela Pioneer Cemetery, to grandson Shawn Haught who gave the eulogy and to Taylor Hale, Ralph Hale, Christie Ford, Don Gibson and Angela Godac for providing such beautiful music. We also thank Pat Tatum and the ladies at the Gisela Community Center for serving a luncheon after the funeral. Everyone was so very thoughtful.
We appreciate the loving kindness that the Hospice House of Payson and the Rim Country Health and Retirement Community showed to Calvin. He was back in the Hospice House when he died -- a place where he felt loved and secure. Special thanks to Dr. Lowe, Tom Hughes and the wonderful nurses there.
We want to give a special thanks to Calvin's brother, Edwin Peace, who spent so much time with him during his last years, watching the D'Backs, cutting his hair or just visiting. Also, during Calvin's last few weeks, he was in a room next to his brother, Ezra Peace, who was of great comfort to him.
We will miss him greatly, but his memory will live on through the many things around us that he built or did. He was a great father and grandfather.
