Anthony J. Aritta, 83, of Meriden, Conn., died June 4, 2007 at The Connecticut Hospice in Branford. He was born May 28, 1924 in New Haven, Conn., a son of the late Joseph P. and Mary Paldo Aritta.
Mr. Aritta had been a Meriden resident for many years.
He was employed by East Haven Plumbing for 30 years and later for BIC Pen Corporation for five years, until his retirement in 1980.
Mr. Aritta was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Sagnella Aritta; two daughters, Marie E. Aritta of East Haven, Conn. and Deborah A. Russell and her husband Ernest of Payson; two grandchildren, Ryan S. Leslie and Brette A. Russell, both of Payson; sister, Carmel Forgione and her husband Sam of New Haven, Conn.; brother, Andrew Aritta of North Branford, Conn.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Vincent Aritta.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 9 at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 382 Hope Hill Road, Yalesville section of Wallingford, Conn. Interment will be private.
