Bible School Answer To 'Mom, I'M Bored'

It's that time of year again when the kids are out of school, and moms begin to hear the chorus, "Mom, I am bored," well, here is something for them to do. Beginning Monday, June 18, through Friday, June 22, they can attend Vacation Bible School. The Christopher Creek Bible Fellowship Church will have this wonderful event from 9 a.m. to noon everyday that week. It is a fun event and the kids will also learn something good. They will be having the same great Bible stories, lots of fun songs to sing, games to play, some really neat crafts to make, and, of course, some delicious cookies to eat. This year's theme is "Rescue Zone: Saved By God's Power." For more information, call Teresa Purtee at (928) 478-4337.

Ladies. It's that time of year for Fellowship, Bible Lessons and some fun. On Saturday, June 23, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. is the Ladies Annual Retreat at the Christopher Creek Bible Fellowship Church. This is a salad luncheon, so bring along your favorite salad to share. If you would like to take a walk, bring along your walking shoes for an easy walk during the break. This year's special speaker is Deidre Bobgan. For a fun craft, bring along inexpensive flip-flops and a half-yard of cotton fabric and they will show you how to decorate them. Childcare is provided. Call Theresa Branson at (928) 476-2558 for more information.

The Christopher Creek Melodrama, sponsored by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Apple Lane, is called "The Loathsome Lady," an Arthurian tale retold.

Ladies, this is a wonderful day of learning. Don't miss out.

It's that time of year again for the Christopher Creek Melodrama, sponsored by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Apple Lane. This year, it is called "The Loathsome Lady," an Arthurian tale retold by Jane and Jim Jeffries. It is directed by Pamela Stevens and produced by Carl Mann, with costume design and prompter by Vicki Grootegoed.

Let the Jester, played by Lorna Aschbrennar, tickle your funny bone with this retelling of an Arthurian legend filled with puns, slapstick humor and audience interaction.

The tale begins as King Arthur, played by the one-and-only Carl Mann, who is trying to make a fast buck, and is accused of poaching by the famous Black Knight, the talented Gary Martin. He attacks the king and, even though Arthur defends himself valiantly with a rubber chicken, defeats him.

In order for the king to keep his kingdom, Arthur must answer the most difficult riddle ever: What do women most desire?

Come and find the answer. Come and see the talent you did not know your neighbors had.

Other local performers in the tale are Marsha Ward as Lady Guinevere, Cindy Mann as Lady Lynette, Margo Holmes Fish as Lady Lenore, Alice Andreas as Hag of The Woods, Rod Aschbrennar as the Friar, and let's not forget the talented Lynn Godfrey as Sir Gawain.

This is free to the residents of this community, but you must have a ticket. Show times will be Thursday, June 28, at 7 p.m., June 29 at 7 p.m., and June 30 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Call (928) 478-4008 for your free ticket today.
