Diana "Chef Di" Skinner, 53, of Strawberry, died May 8, 2007 in Casa Grande.
She was born Sept. 20, 1954 in Rockford, Ill., where she lived until graduating from high school. She then moved to Casa Grande where she was employed as master chef for Bon Appetite for five years. She then moved to Stewart, Fla. She was then employed by another Bon Appetite for five more years. Mrs. Skinner moved back to Arizona and was employed by the Sheraton San Marcos in Chandler. She then moved to Strawberry.
Mrs. Skinner was employed by the Black Bear Restaurant in Strawberry for several years, at which time she won the Mayor's Cup Chef Appetizer Competition in Payson and the People's Choice Award in Scottsdale in 1999.
She is survived by her son, Chuck Rogers of Strawberry; and her brother, Wayne Wendt.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Skinner, in August 2005.
A celebration of life will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 20 at the Mogollon Steak House, 120 Ralls Drive in Strawberry.
