William (Bill) Henry Pernack, 76, of Payson, died June 1, 2007, surrounded by loved ones.
He was born Aug. 28, 1930.
After 35 years in Scottsdale, Mr. Pernack and his wife moved to Forest Lakes for four years, then to Payson, where he lived until the time of his death.
Mr. Pernack's life was dedicated to family and community service.
Mr. Pernack was a veteran of the Korean conflict.
He was active at St. Daniel's in Scottsdale and will be remembered as a lector, great bingo caller, Little League umpire, softball player, backyard barbecuer, swim party enthusiast and teller of bad jokes.
He is survived by his wife and soulmate of 54 years, Laureen; children. Michele (Bill) Fitzgerald of San Antonio, Texas, Richard (Lynn) Pernack of Mesa, Tina (Rodney) Lipman of Port Angeles, Wash., Becky (Mike) Allison of Juneau, Alaska, Lisa Pernack of Mesa and Glenn Pernack of Mesa; grandchildren, Liana, Kelli, Ryan, Stacey, Jill, Jenny, Jenna, MacKenzie, Savanah, Kassidy and Autumn; great-grandchildren, Lorelai, Austin, Aidyn and one due in October; siblings, Beverly, Clay, Don, Sally and Carol. Extended family and many close and dear friends completed his family.
A rosary will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, June 9 at St. Daniel the Prophet church, located at 7923 E. Latham in Scottsdale. A Mass and celebration of life will begin at 2 p.m.
