Diane McDaniel, a longtime resident of Payson, died June 9, 2007 in Star Valley.
She was born June 13, 1948, in Englewood, Calif.
She was a loving wife, sister and grandmother who supported and treasured her family. She will be missed by all those whose lives she touched.
Mrs. McDaniel was a nature and animal lover who routinely took in wounded or abandoned animals who needed a good home. She loved traveling to Canada every summer with her family and was extensively involved in activities around Payson.
Mrs. McDaniel was a gaming commissioner for the Mazatzal Casino and most recently was involved in the establishment of Star Valley as a recognized town. She initially volunteered as Star Valley town clerk and later was acting town manager.
Survivors include her husband of 21 years, Ronnie McDaniel; sister, Lynne Wheeler; son, Tony and Tiffany McDaniel; daughter, Tippi and Jay Simon; grandchildren, Brittney, Tori and Hunter McDaniel, Justin and Chase Simon; nephew and niece, James and Jessica Hahnenkratt.
Her grandchildren remember her love and support in their rodeo activities, sports and daily lives.
The McDaniel family invites all family, friends and loved ones to a celebration of life at 11 a.m., Saturday June 16 at the Tonto Apache Reservation Recreation Center gymnasium.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Payson Humane Society building fund, Whispering Hope Ranch or Liberty Wildlife in East Phoenix.
