A pair of Northern Gila County 4-H Clubs, Equine Unlimited and Horse a Go-Go, will host a weekend competition at the Payson Event Center.
Competition will begin 6 p.m. this evening (Friday) and continue to about 9 p.m. Action continues in the arena tomorrow from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Equestrians 9 to 16 years old from Tonto Basin, Young, Globe, Pine-Strawberry and Payson will compete in the horse show.
"The members will be competing for points to earn qualification (slots) for the state horse show in October," said 4-H Youth Development Agent Lani Hall.
The timed events will include barrel racing, pole bending and goat tying.
All events will be held Friday evening.
The show events, which will include both East and Western riding, are on Saturday.
There is no admission charge for spectators.
