Flag Day Observance At Elks Lodge

Payson Elks Lodge No. 2154 held its annual Flag Day observance Thursday, June 14.

Exalted Ruler Victor Mozart (center) and other members of the Lodge explained what the American flag means to the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, and gave the history of our flag, as it marks the progression of the government of the American people.

The Civil Air Patrol Cadets presented the colors, and Scout members made the presentation of historical flags, from the 1775 concept, to the flag of today.

Prior to the ceremony, Harold Snyder presented to the Payson Elks, the U.S. Centennial flag in the background, which was flown over the nation's Capitol on June 14, 1976.
