Four Teens Arrested For School Break-In, $6,000 In Stolen/Damaged Equipment

On Thursday morning, Payson police began making arrests following the break-in and vandalism of Rim Country Middle School and Payson High School.

According to Payson Police Sgt. Donald J. Garvin, officers plan to arrest four male juveniles, between the ages of 14 and 16, all from Payson.

Officer Les Barr has been conducting the investigation.

Barr began his investigation on Wednesday, June 15, after responding to a burglary call at 6:15 a.m. from Rim Country Middle School.

Garvin estimates about $6,000 in stolen/damaged school equipment (much of it band equipment), and approximately $3,500 in damages to an air hockey game and other school property.

"It could have been worse, they didn't do as much damage as they could have," he said. "About 90 percent of the stolen property has been recovered at this time.

"There is a lot of damage to the band equipment, but I think it will still be able to be used."
