Lisa Kennedy, marketing director for the Payson Care Center, said there is still time for Payson and surrounding communities to donate school supplies to the "Back to School" supply drive before the July 3 deadline. Some of the items needed are No. 2 pencils and pencil sharpeners, 3-ring binders, crayons, rulers, backpacks and other school-related items.
The drive, sponsored by the Payson Care Center and coordinated by Kennedy, began on June 5, and will deliver donations to the various recipient schools following the final drive to be held at 2 p.m. July 3, at Payson Care Center, 107 E. Lone Pine Drive. The public is invited to attend the final drive and donations will be accepted now and during the event.
"This is the first time we (the Payson Care Center) have had this particular school supply drive in Payson," Kennedy said. "The response as far as individual donations from people in Payson so far has been less than overwhelming, but a lot of companies are doing internal drives and they have told me the response has been good from their employees."
