News Alert: "The Cat in the Hat" will be visiting the Pine Library at 1 p.m. tomorrow, Saturday, March 3.
This event is in honor of the 50th anniversary of Dr. Seuss.
Besides the Cat himself, who will certainly read a great Dr. Seuss story or two, there will be games, activities and refreshments. Bring the kids, grandkids and visiting children to the library for lots of fun.
Do stop by and help the Strawberry Patchers with their huge quilting project. They will be in the Pine Library Activity room from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, March 7, 8 and 9. These child-sized quilts go to the officers of the Department of Public Safety to be given to children in trauma situations.
The beautiful quilts are very comforting to the children. There are jobs for everyone during this quiltathon.
Men and women will find that it is fun, productive and rewarding. Also, they will visit with and meet residents of Pine and Strawberry that they did not know before, and, of course, see old friends and neighbors.
The more hands working, the more quilts that can be completed.
