Hugh Wayne Taylor, 91, of Pine, died Sunday, March 4, 2007, at Rim Country Health and Retirement. He was born April 30, 1915 in Pima, Ariz., the 10th of 13 children born to Franklin R. Taylor and Lucy Agnes McBride.
He retired to Gisela in 1980 and then moved to Pine in 1988.
Prior to retirement, he had worked for Navajo County as an equipment operator, living in Pinedale. He was a mechanic, truck driver and millwright most of his life, working in Heber, Prescott and Cottonwood, and also in Pagosa Springs, Colo.
Mr. Taylor is survived by one daughter, Alice Griggory; three sons, Allan (Sandy) of Page, Don (Elsie) of St. Vrain, N.M. and Mike (Ellie) of Pine; 15 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by Rubye, his wife of 63 years; both parents and all 12 siblings.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, March 8 at Messinger Payson Funeral Home. Services will follow at 11 a.m.
Private interment will be held later at the Burton Cemetery in Burton, Ariz., next to his wife.
