The "Cat in the Hat" extravaganza at the Isabelle Hunt Memorial Library was a great hit with a full house of delighted children. Seth Scott, a local high school student, did an extraordinary job as "The Cat." Children from 2 to 10 were drawn into the activities as the Cat led the group in "The Hokey Pokey" and the newest version of "Captain, May I," translated for the occasion to "The Cat in the Hat said."

The concentration of the children was amazing. There were door prizes, refreshments and "Cat in the Hat" project sheets to take home. Sandy Carver, the Cat and the library crew did a wonderful job to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Dr. Seuss. The children loved it.

"The Cat in the Hat," aka Seth Scott, has the children's full attention as he reads a Dr. Seuss favorite.

Dr. Seuss put all his efforts into getting children excited about reading. His books are full of imagination and fun and they are ageless. If you have not read one lately, pick one up and read it through. Better yet, read it with a child.
