Food Vendors Needed For 125th Anniversary

Food vendors are needed Oct. 6 and 7 for the 125th Anniversary of Payson and the Western Heritage Festival.

"We expect about 5,000 people from Payson, the Rim Country and the Valley will attend," said vendor coordinator Gary Bedsworth.

There will be a morning parade down Main Street to Green Valley Park on Saturday, Oct. 6.

"We anticipate that people will want snacks and beverages in the morning and then a meal at noon," Bedsworth said.

There will be activities up and down Main Street after the parade, from about 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Following the parade and day of street events, there will be heritage events in the park until 5 p.m.

Bedsworth would like to have as many as 24 vendors sign up for locations along Main Street and in Green Valley Park.

On Sunday, the festivities will continue at the event center.

Though exact times have yet to be decided, Sunday's anniversary event will include mounted shooters, barrel and pole bending and mutton busting.

About a dozen food vendors are needed to commit to selling on Sunday.

Space fees are $75 to $85 for a 10-by-10 foot space, $100 to $110 for a 10-by-15 foot space and $125 to $135 for a 10-by-20 foot space.

These prices are inclusive for both Saturday and Sunday. Sunday is optional.

Electricity will not be provided.
