Americo Ruggiero, 82, died March 13, 2007. He was born Dec. 3, 1924 in Copiague, Long Island, N.Y.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and after doing some extensive traveling, worked for the school system on Long Island and in Phoenix.
He moved to Payson in 1997 and worked part-time as host at Wendy's for four years.
He is survived by his sister, Rose; brother-in-law, Dan Gerard; nieces, Rose, Jerry and Debra Brooks; nephews, Daniel and John Gerard; 13 great-nieces and great-nephews; four great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Settimio Ruggiero and brothers, Al and Sam.
A memorial service will be held at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery in Phoenix at a future date.
