Wednesday is the first day of spring. After months of dressing in sweats and woolly socks, isn't it delightful to get out the T-shirts, shorts and sandals? Sure, we'll be reaching for sweaters a few times before summer arrives, but those brightly-colored spring clothes are such a welcome change. And isn't it nice to be able to have the doors and windows open again? I love that fresh air.

Scam alert

Beware of a fake IRS audit e-mail scam making the rounds. If you receive an official looking e-mail saying something like "IRS E-Audit" that asks for your Social Security and bank account numbers, and says you must respond within 48 hours, disregard it. The IRS does not use e-mail to inform taxpayers of an audit.
