Roger B. Keys, 92, died March 18, 2007 in Mesa. He was born March 5, 1915 in Naples, Okla. and came to Arizona in 1937.
Mr. Keys proudly served during World War II and later joined the Operating Engineers Local 428. He retired in 1980 and shortly after moved to Young, Ariz.
He was an avid hunter and with the help of his hound dogs, he caught the second biggest bear in Arizona.
He also loved riding his mules and horses.
Mr. Keys is survived by his wife of 61 years, Delores; son, Norman (Chere); grandson Tommy (Susan); granddaughters Dana (Bill) Morgan, Joy (Scott) Glattfelder, and Kristen; 13 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sister Evelyn Sooy of California; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, March 24 at Messinger Payson Funeral Home, 302 W. Aero Drive. Burial services will be at 11:30 at the Young Cemetery.
