Christian school auction and Cowboy Buffet set for tonight

The 2007 Payson Community Christian School Good Apple Auction and Cowboy Buffet will be held on Friday, May 11 at the Mountain Bible Church, 302 E. Rancho Road, Building C. The auction is from 5 to 7:30 p.m. and dinner is at 5:30 p.m. Dinner is $15 a plate. On the menu are burgers, Hebrew National hot dogs, brats, barbecue sandwiches, potato salad, cole slaw, cowboy beans and a variety of delicious desserts. Call (928) 474-8050 for information.

Shepherd of the Pines discontinues Saturday evening service

Shepherd of the Pines Lutheran Church, 507 W. Wade Lane, announces that its Saturday evening worship services will be temporarily discontinued for the summer months, during Pastor Todd Arnold's three-month sabbatical in England. For more information, call (928) 474-5440.

Celebrate Mom and music

It's an M + M Sunday -- a Mom's and Music celebration.

Join the congregation at Payson United Methodist Church Mother's Day to give thanks for the gifts of mothers and music. Free M & M's candies will be given out. Worship is at 10:30 a.m., Sunday School is at 9 a.m.

Church holding Mother's Day Rosary

Sunday, May 13 is Mother's Day and Our Lady of Fatima Day. Please devote one hour to pray the Rosary to the Blessed Virgin Mother Mary.

Pastor from New Orleans to speak at Shepherd of the Pines

Pastor Ed Branshier from Camp Restore in New Orleans, La. will be a guest of Shepherd of the Pines Lutheran Church in Payson on Sunday, May 20.

Branshier will speak at the 10 a.m. worship services, followed by a community soup and sandwich dinner at 11:30 a.m.

Branshier will give a picture presentation and a firsthand update on the restoration work going on in New Orleans.

Volunteerism is off 78 percent since Hurricane Katrina hit land.

A work trip through the church is in the planning stages. More information will be given at the May 20 dinner.

Shepherd of the Pines is located at 504 W. Wade Lane in Payson.
