Hiring Police Chief Should Be Left To Town Leaders

Sandra Mason may think Don Engler is the man but, my question is, does she know what "the man" needs to know. It's sure not how to be a nice family man. Nor is it having integrity, intelligence and honesty. He needs much, much more than that.

Until whoever knows the whole story, they should refrain from praising Mr. Engler. Engler is a nice guy evidently, but that's not the requirement for being a police chief. Back off and let the town fathers do the hunting. They know what they're looking for.

If Mr. Engler winds up being the answer to their prayers, so be it. They and only they will decide that.
