Correction: Please be advised that all previous reference to the Mountain Meadows Subdivision in the previous evacuation notice for the Promontory Fire was in error. The area affected by the evacuation is the property of the Mountain Meadows Bible Camp and the community known as the Brooks. The Mountain Meadows Cabins is a separate area unaffected by the Promontory Fire.
Residents of See Canyon, Brooks and Mountain Meadows Bible Camp have been asked to evacuate immediately.
A downdraft from the storm moving north of the Promontory Fire has intensified the fire in See Canyon.
At this time, Christopher Creek is not part of the evacuation notice.
Residents of See Canyon, the Brooks and the Bible camp have been asked to go to the evacuation shelter in Payson. The shelter is located at the Mount Cross Lutheran Church, located at 601 E. Highway 260, west of the Giant gas station.
Additional information will be available at the evacuation center.
Residents should keep the 5 Ps in mind should they need to leave the area: Papers, Photos, Prescriptions, Pets and Personal computers.
