Residents and tourists, art galleries, antique stores and classic car enthusiasts joined together for the inaugural First Friday on Main Street in Payson on May 4. Not only did local merchants stay open until 8 p.m., many served refreshments. It was exciting to see so many people out and about on Main Street.
Main Street Merchants Guild would like to thank those who made this event possible, set up vendor booths or made their parking lot available to participants: Desert Schools Federal Credit Union, Granny's Attic, Cracker Crate General Store, Rim Country Classic Auto Club, Chuz and Philly, The Dancing Duo, KCMA and their live remote, KRIM, The Senior Center, Northern Gila County Historical Society, Carol McCauley and Cathy Boone at the Main Street Office, the Payson Roundup, the Rim Country Gazette and the Payson Regional Economic Development Corporation.
Main Street Merchants are looking forward to the next First Friday on Main Street in Payson on June 1. Vendors, musicians and artists, along with classic cars, are encouraged to join in this new tradition. The weather should be perfect for an evening stroll.
