I am writing to express my great appreciation for Payson Community Kids having participated in the Community Chest Chaparral Pines and Rim Club Golf Tournament held at the Rim Club on Monday, May 7, to benefit us and four other worthwhile charities.

With the generous support of the Rim Club and many members of the community, the total amount raised was over $20,000 for us, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Habitat for Humanity, Payson Pro-Rodeo Committee for Scholarships and Payson Gateway Project.

There are so many people who helped with this event, including organizers Michael Mlaker, Mark Lyons, Birch Criswell and Trent Rowley and many others.

Roadrunner Rubbish Removal and RFM Contracting sponsored holes.

Our golfers were Len Signeski, Bill Kessler, Sharon and Chris Stople, Butch Joyner, Bill Sow, Guy Pfister, David Oesterblad, Mike and Melinda Kroplin, Bill Berryman, B.J. Nelson, Mike Woolery, Bob Purkey, Larry Hoecker, Scott Nossek, Four Seasons Motor Sports (Mark Svir and a friend), RFM Contracting Inc. (Warren Ashmann and Michael Carpenter), Bud Smith, Barkley Logan, Kevin Sokol, Rick Sokol, Bill Day, Ken Helman, Farrell Hoosava, Gary Gartley, Dan Simmons, Don Simmons and Roadrunner Rubbish Removal (Chris Avakian and a friend).

We also auctioned off, for $300, a golf club generously signed and donated by renowned golfer, Bruce Devlin.

Our thanks also goes to Robert Henley of Big Brothers Big Sisters, Ross Hage of Habitat for Humanity, John Landino for Payson Pro-Rodeo Committee for Scholarships, Nancy Cox for Payson Gateway Project, and their teams of golfers, and Terry Nelson, our contact person and supporter, for all their hard work towards making this wonderful tournament a major success for all of us.

The success of the tournament will help us keep our program's doors open all summer for the neediest children in the Payson area. We are so grateful to everyone, not only for their generous help in organizing and running the tournament, but also for their moral support of us, because our program is made possible solely by private donations and volunteers. Because of you, we can feed, clothes and help many disadvantage children and their families.

We hope everyone will visit us at our center, especially when our wonderful kids are here -- to see how your vital support is helping us improve our community by changing lives, one kid at a time.

Marcy Rogers, President, Payson Community Kids Inc.
