Piano Students Received Highest Rating For Performance



On Saturday, May 11, 16 of the Payson piano students of Dr. Victoria Harris participated in the Arizona State Music Teachers' Association 2007 Evaluations, held at Arizona State University in Tempe.

All 16 students received the top rating of "1" -- Superior Honors.

Dr. Harris' students participating this spring were Lucy Schouten, Katie Schouten, Cole Alexander, Journey Alexander, Storm Alexander, Esther Marie Cluff, Daniel Cluff, Nathan Cluff, Sarah Cluff, Elizabeth Hewitt, Nathan Howard, Rachel Knauer, Rebecca Knauer, Natalie McLearn, Hannah McLearn and Jesse Snively. These students performed all their piano pieces from memory and completed a written theory test.

The Arizona Study Program is a 12-year graded course of study, developed by the ASMTA to provide for the development of musical performance, theory and technique. It is organized in terms of the 12 years of public school. It required continual work throughout the year.
