On behalf of Payson Area Habitat for Humanity, I want to thank all of the volunteers who dedicated their time and resources and all of the sponsors who were so generous in contributing to the PAHH fund raising Rim Country Challenge races that were held Oct. 13. The event would not have been possible without the major sponsorship of the Mazatzal Casino.
I was impressed with the professionalism of Sgt. Don Kasl and the volunteer police who managed traffic control on a very challenging course. Don put a lot of effort into making sure that everyone understood their assignments and he cruised the course personally, to make sure the runners safely returned to the finish line.
A lot of credit goes to Payson Parks and Recreation for the use of Rumsey Park and other facilities for the staging area for the races.
They also set up and provided the help for the water stations on the course.
Thank you to the Knights of Columbus, for providing the pancake breakfast for the runners on race day. Thank you to Wayne Gorry for taking charge of the Young Athletes' Fun Run, including the leadership of the T-shirt design contest for the Young Athletes. The entire race committee deserves credit for their dedication and taking charge of their specific area of responsibility.
