Humane Society Prepares For Annual Chili Supper

The Payson Humane Society has received wonderful donations for the silent auction, which will be part of their 11th Annual Chili Supper. Thanks to the generosity of local and some not-so-local businesses, there are great items to bid on.

These include antique furniture pieces, artwork, loads of gravel, tickets to outdoor adventures and cultural events, certificates for services like health and beauty care, themed gift baskets, and an autographed Arizona Cardinals football.

Proceeds from the chili supper will benefit the many homeless pets at the Payson Humane Society

Tickets are now available for the event. The date is Tuesday, Nov. 13, 4:30 -- 7 p.m. at the Elks Lodge at 1206 N. Beeline Hwy. The cost of the tickets for this event, which benefits the homeless animals of Rim Country, is $7 for adults and $4 for kids under 12 years of age. They are available at the Payson Public Library and the Payson Humane Society Animal Shelter at 812 S. McLane Rd. They are also available at the door the night of the supper.

As in the past, a delicious meal of chili, mac and cheese, salad, rolls, and homemade cupcakes will be served.

Along with the silent auction, there will be quilt raffles, a 50/50 raffle and the sale of their first annual "Pets of Rim Country" 2008 calendar.

Adding to the fun, KCMA will also be doing a live broadcast from the event.

So mark your calendar -- you don't want to miss this!
