Craig Triphahn, manager of Payson's Sawmill Theatres, has been elected as treasurer of the Arizona Theater Owners Association. The ATOA works hand in hand with the National Association of Theater Owners (NATO).
This organization is responsible for monitoring legislation, theater updates regarding equipment, film company policies, etc.
"ATOA will enjoy a special benefit with Triphahn on the board, as I can help him with the various duties which include billing of members, monitoring monies from various fund-raisers and other duties, as I was treasurer for five years," said Brian Deveny, owner of Sawmill Theatres.
"Wayne Kulander, president of ATOA, expressed at the Oct. 24 meeting how good of a fit this would be. I am currently chairman of ATOA and am a past president (7 years)," Deveny added.
Other past presidents are Dan Harkins, Bill Blair and Brian Scheid (AMC Theaters).
