Himmelbergers celebrate 60
I received a very nice letter in the mail from one of my readers, Barbara Himmelberger, who lives in the Valley and reads the Roundup every week.
She said she and her husband Bob have been coming up to Christopher Creek for more than 43 years. Some of the best vacations they took were right here. They were up this way with their kids and grandkids during the flood of 1971.
Last week, they were up here and celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at Creekside Steakhouse, and we want to wish them another 60 wonderful years together.
It is always nice to hear from people that really appreciate the beauty that surrounds us, here in Christopher Creek.
Bag your leaves
This weekend is the Christopher Creek Homeowners Association fall cleanup and hanging of the Christmas lights along the highway.
It is a big and busy fall weekend, and they need your help. It is the fall cleanup, where you bring your bagged leaves and needles to the county Dumpster, located in the old Creekside trailer park.
Only forest debris is permitted. If you can't get your leaves to the Dumpster, call Gary Anderson at (928) 478-4075 to arrange for pickup. A donation of 25 cents a bag is requested.
No bags will be picked up without prior arrangements.
If you can help out bring your truck or trailer to the fire station at 8 a.m. They will also be decorating the highway for the Holidays.
Get into the Christmas spirit early, by reporting to the fire station at 9 a.m.
It is a great family experience to help hang the lights and decorations.
You will be assigned an area to decorate, and at noon there will be a chili potluck for all the leaf collectors and holiday light hangers to enjoy.
This is always a fun time to come out and meet your neighbors.
Local Artist C.M. Scott will be displaying his art, oil and charcoal from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24 at the Grey Hackle Lodge. Come out and visit with him.
Chuck Salomon will be adding another candle to his birthday cake today Nov. 9. Pastor Ed Hepworth of the Christopher Creek Bible Fellowship Church will also be celebrating today.
Al Dale and Jim Wheeler will be celebrating their birthdays on Nov. 10.
Pat Oliver and Larry Boeschling will have another birthday on Nov. 13.
And, Kyle Gourdoux will be adding another candle to his cake on Nov. 14, Hazel it's getting crowded on that cake!
I wish you all a Happy Birthday!
