Isabella Sockrider Wins Women's Nine-Hole Title


Starring on both the nine- and 18-hole Payson Women's Golf Association circuits is old hat for Isabella Sockrider.

After finishing second in an 18-hole "nine blind holes" formatted tournament, Sockrider turned to the nine-hole links to win the PWGA club championship,


Isabella Sockrider played in both the nine-hole and 18-hole groups of the Payson Women's Golf Association.

She and other tournament winners were honored Nov. 1 at a season-ending banquet at the Main Street Grill.

In addition to earning the club championship, Sockrider was lauded for her second-place finish in an Oct. 18 low net tournament, for winning a "Tee-It-Up- Anywhere" fray played Oct. 25 and for winning closest-to-the-pin and chip-in birdie honors.

Ann Adams was named the Lady Niners most improved player.

Also during the award ceremony, closest-to-the-pin recognition for tournaments played during October was given to Carol Webb and Brookie Coleman. Kelly O'Neil was praised for her chip-in birdie on No. 15 during a low net tournament.

Anita Dekowski and Webb earned trophies for tying for first in the tournament.
