Elmer Axelson, 97, died Oct. 2, 2007. He proudly served in the Army during World War 2, where he fought in North Africa and Italy. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Helen; and two daughters, Betty Axelson-McClelland and Donna Demas.
Also surviving are grandchildren Chuck and Susan Demas, and his great-granddaughter Angela Demas, as well his son-in-laws Paul McClelland and Bill Demas.
Mr. Axelson was preceded in death by his parents Axel and Regina Axelson, and his two brothers Roy Axelson and John Axelson.
He was an avid sports fan and loved playing table tennis and billiards. He also enjoyed listening to many different types of music.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Mr. Axelson's name to either the Payson United Methodist Church, 414 N. Easy St., or the Payson Humane Society, 812 S. McLane Rd.
A memorial service will be held at the Payson Methodist Church at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 24.
