Person in history you'd most like to meet and why: The apostle Paul. His understanding, kindness and tenacity is a great inspiration to me.

Why Payson? Beautiful scenery, beautiful people and a rural town, yet close to theaters in a big city.

In school, who was your favorite teacher and why? Mrs. Marchant from second grade. She awoke our desire to learn with surprises and hands on projects. I remember her lessonson on volume. She brought pots and pans to class with measuring cups and spoons.

Her parakeet flew out of a big pot when she lifted the lid. We used water, sand and Jell-O in various activities.

What was your favorite subject in school and why?

Language arts in fifth grade. My friends and I finished our lessons early and were asked to create skits about them. We also made puppets and put on puppet plays using materials from the language arts class.

What was your favorite year in school and why?

Sixth through eighth grades. Our elementary school transformed into an "open school" where the students signed contracts for each lesson and decided which rooms they would go to and how long they would spend there. My life changed.
