The Arizona Department of Transportation said Highways 87 and 260 would have all lanes of traffic open for the holiday weekend rush.
"No closures or restrictions are planned for the four-day Thanksgiving weekend in the Payson area," Community Relations Specialist John C. Tucker with ADOT said.
While there won't be any closures or restrictions in the Payson area, ADOT officials are cautioning motorists to be aware of some restrictions in the Valley.
"ADOT is advising Payson area residents who are traveling to and from the Phoenix area over the weekend to be patient and to be especially cautious near the ongoing State Route 87 work zone for a new interchange project at the Bush Highway/Saguaro Lake turnoff, north of Fountain Hills," ADOT spokesperson Doug Nintzel said.
Nintzel said no work is planned for the holiday weekend, but northbound traffic will be restricted to one lane near the Bush Highway along Highway 87, and asked motorists coming home to Payson and the Rim Country to be patient, especially Sunday afternoon and evening, when traffic may become heavy.
